Defects in Buildings
Department of Civil Engineering on the Faculty of Technology annually organizes a conference Building Defects, since 2009.
The current conference is the tenth continuation of Building Defects conferences, which solves especially the causes of defects during building and afterwards defects of building and building construction. The conference is the premiere chance for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of Civil Engineering.
10th Anniversary International Scientific Conference Building Defects is focused on following topics:
* Building Information Modeling (BIM) in design, construction and operations of buildings,
* Mechanical and Materials Engineering
* Building Design and Technology
It aims to provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, and professionals from both the industry and the academia to share their newest research findings and results. The main aim of the conference is the presentation of scientific research results and its practical solutions in the field of civil engineering and architecture, taking into account the principles of sustainable development. Contemporary civil engineering issues and its future development. The progressive technologies and built environment disciplines will be presented through the development of new and innovative BIM tools and techniques.
The conference will be held at The Institute of Technology and Business (ITB) in České Budějovice in 29th – 30th November 2018.
Conference is organized by the Department of Civil Engineernig on the Faculty of Technology, and on behalf of His Magnificence prof. Marek Vochozka, MSc., MBA., Ph.D., rector of the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice.

Innovations in Teaching Outputs in Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in Non-University Institutes
The conference will take place in December of this year as one of the outputs of the project “Innovation of outputs, content and methods of bachelor’s degree programmes at non-university higher education institutes”. This conference, by means of panel discussions, will deal with, among other things, the issue of the employability of graduates from non-university institutions on the Czech labour market as a whole and on the specific requirements in South Bohemia. The participants of this conference will include foreign and domestic experts and representatives from the tertiary sector of education and company practice.

Organisation of Workshops and Conferences
The Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice has already organised a long list of conferences since its inception in 2006. Some of the conferences were either held in response to topical events, or to certain social needs. Others regularly repeat or continuously tackle new trends and support professionals in the application of new methods and techniques.
