The international student mobility programmes are based on one-semester study stays in foreign partner schools and one-semester work placements (long-term training) in foreign companies. The objective of the mobility programmes is to learn selected subjects in a foreign language in a foreign school and recognition of those subjects after the students return to VŠTE as a part of their completed study. A half-year study stay not only increases expertise, but also develops language and social skills, knowledge of another EU country, and contributes to a student’s ability to adapt. The long-term trainings are focused on understanding the labour market in another EU country, familiarisation with the requirements for professional knowledge and skills in a foreign environment, familiarisation with inter-cultural differences and demands on employees, including involvement in working in multi-cultural teams.
VŠTE has currently concluded partnership contracts with 122 foreign schools.
In addition to long-term stays the school also arranges short-term trips – International Weeks. These take place in partner schools or in VŠTE in a foreign language, primarily English. Weekly project activities take place in all higher education establishments involved in the international network. Students are allotted to several teams consisting of participants from partner schools; each team consists of students of various nationalities. The teams solve some real problems or a case study assigned to them, the results of which they present and defend. At the end of the week the students receive certificates.
